After The Hail, A Rainbow

26 Nov

Petey and I went to Worthing today, a train ride about 20 minutes west of Brighton. As soon as we were as far away from shelter as possible, it started hailing, which soon melted away into rain. We got soaked.

After running around on the sand for a bit, the sun came out. When I turned around to face the beach, I audibly gasped or cursed or both. The most stunning rainbow was stretched across the sky. I think it may be the first time in my life that I have seen a complete rainbow.

I am convinced it was hung there just for me. A quote from the great philosopher Dolly Parton:

If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.
